Plate II, the kitchen

The kitchen.

37 recipes on rotation. Mostly over fire. Cooked, adjusted, and cooked again.

Cooking is the other discipline I keep coming back to. Same shape as the range and the bushveld, really, you read the conditions, you stay patient, and you respect the thing in front of you. A hot pan asks the same honesty a long stalk does: pay attention, or it goes wrong quietly.

Most of what I make starts over fire, or wishes it did. It is how I feed the people at my table and how I switch the day off, hands busy, phone face-down, dinner coming together at its own pace. None of this is fine dining. It is the rotation that keeps a house fed and a week feeling human.

These are the recipes I actually return to, saved off a phone, cooked, adjusted, cooked again. I keep them here so they are easy to find the next time someone is hungry.
